Call for Papers

The Agriculture and Food Authority in Association with GIZ is pleased to announce the call for papers for the Sugar Industry Innovation Symposium and Expo 2024, taking place from December 3rd to 5th, 2024, at the Grand Royal Swiss Hotel in Kisumu. This year’s theme is "Youth Opportunities in the Sugar Value Chain," focusing on empowering the next generation of leaders in the sugar industry. We invite researchers, innovators, and industry professionals to submit their papers for consideration in line with the thematic areas outlined below.

• Submission Process:
  Papers should be submitted electronically in PDF format via email to info@sugarinnovation.org The subject line should read “Sugar Industry Innovation Symposium and Expo 2024.” The file should be named with the author›s last name (e.g., ‹Mugure.pdf›).
• Structure:
  >> The text should include the sections: Introduction, Methodology, Discussion, Conclusions, and References, with one line space before and after each section title.
  >> Tables should be inserted in the text and numbered consecutively with Roman numerals, with titles centered at the top of the tables.
  >> Figures should be inserted in the text, numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals, with titles centered at the bottom. They should also be submitted in a separate file in jpg format, following the order of appearance in the paper.
  >> References should be formatted in APA style.
• Structure:
  >> Qualified authors/innovators will be notified and invited to submit their full papers for presentation during the Symposium.
  >> There will also be the possibility of commercial presentations, where companies can promote their products, services, and technologies related to the topics of the event. Each presentation will last 30 minutes.
